Kingstowne Acoustic Music fills all of your acoustic music needs. Instruments and accessories, lessons, instructional material, and repairs. Kingstowne Acoustic Music goes a step further, and encourages musicians of similar talent levels and musical interest to begin playing together.

David and Jackie Evans created Kingstowne Acoustic Music to fill an increasing demand for a specialized music store that could cater to the needs of acoustic musicians. Area musicians were looking for greater product selection, and choices when it came to instruments and accessories. Bluegrass musicians in particular, needed a place where they could get quality, service and have opportunities to meet other musicians.

Founded by David and Jackie Evans, Kingstowne Acoustic Music is a family run operation.
David began his musical journey early in life, when he was given a $2 guitar at the age of 4. By the time he reached 14 he was an accomplished trumpet player and was granted a scholarship to attend the North Carolina School of Performing Arts in Winston-Salem.
Now 40 years later, David is an avid bluegrass music lover and banjo player.

Kingstowne Acoustic Music would have never opened its doors except for the persistence and steadfastness of Jackie Evans. Jackie began playing the piano early in life, and was vital to the opening of Kingstowne Acoustic Music. Diversity best sums up her musical passion, but she has a special fondness for Oldies Rock and Roll.

Their son Tim, is also heavily involved in the family business. Tim is a promising but still budding guitar player. Diversity is a characteristic that Tim also has. He is more than comfortable jamming with his dad's bluegrass friends, can play with his Rock and Roll buddies from school, and even sit in with a hot jazz ensemble.

The instruction staff is one of the things that make Kingstowne Acoustic Music unique. The highly qualified instructors are dedicated and passionate. Many have graced some of the most famous stages in the world.

Tim best sums up our company philosophy, "Playing by yourself can get pretty boring, playing with some friends...Well that is what music is all about." We encourage people with similar talent and musical interests to get together and start playing as a group. You challenge yourself, learn faster, and have more fun.
