Jody Chalk is the Director of Teaching for Kingstowne Acoustic Music.  Jody teaches all styles of guitar from Bluegrass to Jazz and everything in between.  Jody has been teaching for 35 years and has performed with numerous National Recording Artists such as,                   Hank Williams Jr., Riders in the Sky, Deanna Bogart, and The Blue Mule Bluegrass Band to name just a few.  Jody was a featured artist at the Kennedy Center Worlds Largest Conncert.  Beginner to Professional level students are welcome. Instruments Jody teaches include: Guitar (Acoustic or Electric), Banjo, Mandolin, Bass (Acoustic or Electric)  Fiddle and Dobro.

Chris has performed in jazz, blues, and rock groups nationally for over twenty years. He has recorded for film, television and radio,and has taught all over the country, including the South Bay School of Music Arts in California and the Florida Music Academy in Tampa.
Chris also teaches guitar at Northern Virginia
Community College, performs as a solo jazz guitarist,and plays in groups with some of the top local jazz artists.
  Chris has had several students go to music schools on scholarships.  Chris teaches guitar 
  and bass in a wide variety of styles.

John Bevans comes to Kingstowne Acoustic Music with a wealth of guitar and drum knowledge.  John performs regionally with the Nunchuks a progressive rock band, that is rapidly becoming a crowd pleaser at local venues.  John comes from a very musical family, and began playing at an early age.  John has been teaching guitar and drums for 9 years. 

Morgan Olsen recently graduated from The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) where she received her Master of Music with an emphasis in Choral Conducting. As the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Choral Department at UNO, Morgan taught voice lessons and was the assistant director for the University Chorus and Concert Choir ensembles. Directly upon graduation she had the opportunity to conduct throughout Germany. Morgan graduated from Utah State University, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Music, emphasis in Vocal Performance. While there she taught both University and private voice lessons, sang in the elite ensemble Chamber Singers, and performed in operas such as Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers. She has participated in master classes with the likes of Karen Peeler and Oren Brown, and has performed in a variety of ensembles, genres and venues. Morgan is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the National Association of the Teachers of Singing (NATS). She is currently living in Alexandria, VA pursuing her career in music. Morgan teaches all styles of voice and piano. 

Thomas Clune is the strings instructor for Kingstowne Acoustic Music. He specializes in bass instruction, but is also very capable on Violin, Viola, and Cello as well. A recent graduate from George Mason University, Thomas performs in several area orchestras and bands. Thomas is currently persuing his Masters Degree in Music Education and Performance.

John Rhodes began his teaching career in 1961. John attained his Masters from the Indiana University of PA.  From 1966-present John has been a member of the U.S Army Chorus, played trumpet with the Fairfax Symphony, performed with the Metropolitan Chorus,  Washington Opera and the Choral Arts Society. A Fairfax County Public Schools Music Teacher for 30 years, John understands the needs of young musicians, and has helped thousands of students attain their musical goals. Emerson Comacho began his playing career as a heavy metal guitarist, but has since embraced music from every genre.  Whether he is playing rock, blues, classical, or funk, he has developed a passion for all styles and finds a way to blend into the mix.  Though mainly a solo artist, Emerson also records with several local musicians.  As an instructor Emerson believes any song can be simplified so that anyone regardless of talent or ability can play along with their favorite music.  "Love what you do and keep playing" is a motto that Emerson lives by, and his goal is to inspire and encourage all students to perform with the same passion that has made him a success.

Christie Ray is an educator with over 14 years experience teaching piano to students of all ages. She has an advanced degree in education, as well as 9 years’ experience as a school teacher. She’s played piano most of her life, her experiences ranging from accompanying vocal performances to weddings and church services. Christie is a creative and resourceful instructor who tailors lessons to each individual’s learning style and needs, as well as his or her musical interests. Her priority is providing rewarding, effective and enriching learning experiences that foster a lifelong love of music.

Brazilian-born, Simone Goncalves Perszyk has resided in the USA for the past four years. She earned dual master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Accompanying from The University of Akron, Ohio, where she studied with Philip Thomson and Laura Silverman. She also holds a bachelor of music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Campinas, Brazil. Her performance experiences range from music festivals, competitions and master classes to work as a church pianist. For the past three years she took part in the “Monster Piano!” concert in E. J. Thomas Hall, Akron, OH.  Some of her performances venues include Josephine Campbell Recital Hall (University of North Dakota) and Ives Concert Hall (Western Connecticut State University). She was a first- prize winner in the 20th Concurso Nacional de Piano “Paulo Giovanine” in Araçatuba, and has won awards for piano in Brazil, France and Chile. She has participated in numerous festivals, including the 2nd Campus International de Música – Juventudes Musicales de Toledo in Spain and the Curso de Música Clássica – Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow, Russia. She worked as part-time faculty member at The University of Akron and as Graduate Teaching Assistant during her Master’s degree. She has been teaching private piano lessons since 2001 and working as freelance accompanist since 2005. Besides teaching she is currently enrolled at American University in the Arts Management program as well as interning at The Washington National Opera.

Stephen France has been playing guitar for nearly twenty-five years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Kingstowne Acoustic Music including over twenty years of live performance and ten years of teaching guitar and bass. Stephen has performed with numerous bands in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and has performance credits on television commercials and experience in studio recording and engineering. His musical styles include: Blues, Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Funk, Country, Pop, and the occasional dabble in Jazz and Classical. Stephen encourages his students to play the music and guitar styles that they enjoy and provides insight into the musical influences that made their favorite bands and guitarists who they are today.
